I always felt that the first eight months of 2009 were terrible. I spent most of that year discovering that good early 2000s music. Rihanna and Gaga were the saving graces for me.
2010 was okay. I remember everyone on ATRL being pressed that OMG was being played everywhere. I liked Usher, Rihanna, Christina and Eminem's albums that year.
I was surprised to see that "Black Widow" is only at ~1.5 million.
How do artists make money from free streams?
They get paid X amount of cents per stream. Or per ten streams they get paid X amount of cents. But I'm not sure exactly how that works. And online radio apps like Pandora have to pay the artist to get the right to use their songs for their app, I'm sure the same applies to Spotify (Spotify has to pay artists for their permission to put their album/single up for streaming).
I actually think they had been working at a loss for quite a long time. Things may have changed in the past 2 years but they might still be operating at a loss
Where's that Spotify spokesperson dust2 when you need him
Yep. Ad revenue has dramatically increased as more users have been using it during the past two years. Ads are the answer to everything popular. That's the reason why this site is plagued, on mobile.
ok whatever obviously I was referring to US iTunes like 25 minutes ago when AnaconDONT was #19 and Black Widow #15. drag anyway with all those receipts I didn't ask for.
Coming for Nicki using Iggy receipts is stupid. I sometimes think you're a parody stan when you post such nonsense Just Sayin' *knife emoji* only come for Azealia but that's it on account of Iggy will never reach Nicki's success and iconic-ness
