Actually, that wasn't a weight diss. I genuinely love Ariana's voice. Four octaves and very reminiscent of Mariah's voice.

And in the years from 2010 to 2014 (AKA THIS DECADE, which is what is being referred to) I'd hardly rank Christina as one of the artists whose voice alone stood above the rest.

Adele is the only artist, again aside from Sam Smith, whose voice stands alone on stage and in her music.

Billie Holiday was one of the best singers ever existed.She had a 1 octave range.
Unnaturally high notes do not make a singer good.

I wouldn't either, but she won the award for LAST GENERATION. Her actual voice is still great, she just hasn't showcased it nearly as much. Adele tries to showcase her a lot, but her limited range impedes this

Range is not the be-all and end-all, but Adele's range is incredibly limited and makes her very limited as a vocalist. She even struggles terribly to hit the Eb5s on Someone Like You for a millisecond in the studio, which even most full contraltos can do with little problem. And despite having a quite low voice, her lower register isn't incredible. It's mid-register and nothing else.
