Simon Cowell's got Beyonce, Britney on his mind
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Simon Cowell says his wish list of celebrities for the upcoming season of "American Idol" includes Paul McCartney, Beyonce and Britney Spears.
McCartney has so far refused to appear on "American Idol," but Spears and Beyonce took part in Cowell's British talent show, "X Factor."
Cowell also said Wednesday that he's reserving judgment on how the addition of a fourth "American Idol" judge, singer-songwriter Kara DioGuardi, will pan out. Cowell has been happy with the chemistry over the years among him, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul.
But he said DioGuardi is qualified and, what is more important, is willing to express her opinion.
3. Beyonce, I Am...Sasha Fierce, 159,000. The album holds at #3 in its fourth week. It's #20 for the year-to-date, higher than any other double-disk album. Three songs from the album are listed on Hot Digital Songs, topped by "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," which holds at #2. Beyonce is one of three artists with two songs in the top 10 on this week's Digital Songs chart. Britney Spears and Kanye West also achieved the feats.
