That album is great, but it is still a regression.

The biggest issue on SMG is that it's overproduced and blends the vocals way too much. SOML was a great step up because it spotlighted each of the boys.

I don't understand why they would quit after they found a formula that worked.

Oh plz. They did a ton of cheesy songs ripping off classic rock on both UAN and TMH

They did it on MM a couple times too, but with less cutesy tracks.

Oh Penny. While the vibe is different from MM, it does sort of have a regression similar to UAN. Especially with how the vocals are harmonized, it's like there's no personality to the song.

u can all gang up on me all u want but SMG does not sound like it would fit in on UAN or TMH

& saying there is no personality to a song with a heavenly bridge like that is just ridiculous

Not really. When I listen to the song, aside from Niall, I can't really tell who is singing.
The blending is just over the top. I love the song but I cannot ignore the glaring flaws in it.

That's what I mean by personality. There's no definitive vocal that stands out on the chorus or the verses, like on SOML for example.
