LORDE’S “YELLOW FLICKER BEAT” ERUPTS AT ALTERNATIVE RADIO

With blockbuster, crossover hits in “Royals” and “Team,” Lorde spent late 2013 and early 2014 firmly establishing herself as a pop star.

The alternative format on which she first gained US traction is not, however, over the whole Lorde scene. It enthusiastically welcomed her new single “Yellow Flicker Beat” into the mix.

“Yellow Flicker Beat,” which serves as the lead single from the Lorde-curated “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1″ soundtrack, erupted with an impressive 30 monitored Mediabase adds this week. No other song garnered even a third of that support this week.

Not exclusively popular with alternative/modern rock programmers, Lorde’s new single also resonated at Triple A. With twelve monitored pickups this week, “Yellow Flicker Beat” was also that format’s most-added track.

A quick story: I went to go visit my friend in the hospital who broke his leg. He was sharing a room with another patient - she was really fat, pasty and like 92. She was also just recently deceased. Her mouth literally drooping wide open like Dump$ter in this pic! I was horrified!! Literally never going to a hospital again
Anyway, the takeaway is that her corpse looked EXACTLY like this picture.
