Were Bionic tour ticket sales as bad? I heard both the Stripped and Back to Basic's tours were pretty good so I dunno why she just stopped. Maybe she got lazy (most likely).
Bionic was really bad. Mind you they had already announced the tour and everything once the album came out. I think like a week or two after the album was released there was no more talk of the tour. She says it was because of that horrible movie Burlesque but yeah. Plus Lady Gaga was out at the time as was dominating so that added to it.
Not Brooklyn Beckham making me like the song even more now
Too young for me! He'll be a fiiiine man once he's grown tho.
Ugh. Birthday was such an obvious smash. I was really rooting hard for it and even tried giving that music video some promotion on my FB wall. Anyways, ready for By The Grace of God to be her next single. That Gospel nomination for it will be her first win and be her first big ballad in the States.
His lead single was done by the people behind Unapologetic.
The followup was produced by Pharrell and it featured Nicki.
The next single was done by Mike Will Made It.
His current single is produced by Dr. Luke and features Juicy J.
The fifth single will probably be produced by DJ Mustard.
All that promo and he's sold barely 300k singles globally this era.
He should do an album with the majority of songs produced by Diplo. They're great together.
The Mike Will song was bad, so I'm not surprised it's flopping.

I feel like Bionic would have been an odd album to tour for. Looking back, I wish she had followed through. Xtine's best ballads are on Bionic. I Am (Stripped), All I Need, and You Lost Me are soul-crushingly beautiful. I feel pretty bad for her that era but she seemed to escape it without taking too much damage (aside from no longer being a touring force).

Good Kisser (which did decent on urban/rhythmic radio)
She Came to Give It to You ft. Nicki Minaj Pharrell produced (flopped even with a VMA performance)
IDK the Mike Will song but I think it was called Believe Me
I Don't Mind ft. Juicy J Dr. Luke produced
Bionic flopping was buffered with the Burlesque soundtrack doing around 700K in the US. So the 700K + 300K from Bionic made her sell ~1M albums that year, which isn't all that bad.

I don't care for Xtina really, I feel she's highly overrated and people just think she's a great singer cause she's loud with no technique. However, Bionic was ahead of it's time. She was the first to work with Sia and now look at Sia. And yes the ballads on Bionic are phenomenal but saying your album was inspired by the birth of your son while you're singing about getting your vagina eaten isn't too appealing. Also LG was demolishing electronic music and Xtina is always after the curve never ahead or on time with the trends.
I alos think Beyonce latched on to it and put her own spin on it personally.

.. and then Lotus was waiting in the wings.
She seemed to have given up after Bionic. Lotus seemed like the living definition of a cash grab from whatever she was doing on The Voice. She doesn't seem to care about it.
Usher is the King of Pop. He deserves so much better
King of Rap Macklemore should collab with him so he can get a top 10 hit this era. That other white guy he collabed with on She Came To Give It To You didn't work out.
