I see a lot of it as them taking the word hostage and using it to promote themselves, but I don't think they necessarily represent wholeheartedly the depths of feminism - no, I don't. I think for many it's very convenient and it looks great and it looks radical, but I have some issues with it. I have issues with it. Of course I do. I think it's a cheap shot. I think what they do with it is cheap and ... yeah. What can I tell you? Sex always sell. And there's nothing wrong with sex selling, but it depends on your audience. If they're 7-year-old kids, I have issues with it.

Beyonce has been a feminist since "Writings On The Wall" with DC then she cemented herself with "Independent Women". Beyonce is very aware of the hypocrisy that lies in Feminism and she will stand by what she preaches. She is all about self expression and whether she is a mom or a wife her sexuality is apart of her and she dosent need to hide it from anyone. She embraces her sexuality and no amount of what society thinks a woman should be will stop that. Annie Lenoxx and Emma Watson just have different opinions on Beyonce and that's fine. But Beyonce has her views and no amount of criticism will change them.

She just wants a clear channel with Bey (and OTHER artists, NOT JUST BEY!), to pick their brains and discuss what feminism means to them. I agree with most of what she says minus the last sentence or so - which didn't make much sense to me. Was she referring to Beyonce's audience? Because I doubt it comprises of seven year olds. Why do they limit Beyonce's feminism to her body & sexuality? She was feminist before she adopted the title. It's always is she feminist because she owns her sexuality. It's never Beyoncé is a feminist because she runs an empire, she earns more than her husband, she has an all female band & all female dancers except 2 males. People are saying she's doing this to expand her brand but her songs were reflecting the ideas of feminism 15 years ago like stop. It's annoying. Feminism is more than just sex. Look at this girls art over her whole career it's nothing new

She should've waited to have that conversation with the popstars before saying that they are using feminism as a self promotion tool. That's ignorant and disrespectful.

I kind of agree but at the end of the day, if a seven year old is watching her performance it is up to the parent to take action and turn the television off. Plain and simple.

Beyoncé is a feminist. Being a feminist doesn't always mean keeping your clothes on and not giving into a man's desires. It is about taking control of yourself, your body and self worth. Beyoncé has kept her body only for her husband, she might put on sexual performances but like I said before, it is about taking control of your own body.
