Max Martin/Dr. Luke songs are deceptively difficult to sing live though because the melodies are not really built around what comes naturally to vocalists (which is also why they are so catchy, they are mechanically repetitive).
I remember Kelly STRUGGLING with "Since U Been Gone" at the VMAs and we all know she is an impeccable singer.
They craft their songs the Beach Boys way: with bombastic choruses that only the true blue vocalists can handle without backtrack or being out of breath.
The only time they don't do this is with the Britney songs. They have to actually be creative when crafting Britney her talk-sing melodies which is why those usually are their best works.
they are, especially someone like beyonce (who lip syncs half the damn time). Her vocals are nothing special, way too straightforward for my liking. I like vocals like Fiona Apples
