I think this is a compromise, in terms of putting out some new music that allows her to very limited promotion with her pregnancy but also keeps her on the radio as well.
I think the plan was to put album #5 out Q4 but with her being pregnant changed that decision. She can't do promotion or touring so a compromise happened with a GH album.
I could see us getting album #6 now Q4 of 2015 which allows her to enjoy this time in her life. I am proud that she has put her RL in front of business
I can't believe I didn't think of her releasing a Greatest Hits album sooner. It all makes sense considering she's pregnant. Still can't wait for new music though! And that cover is great! I guess she's going for a black and white look this era.
I tweeted saying we may see her 5th album (technically now a greatest hits album) would be out somewhere between Nov 18 - Dec 9. Coincidental? I think not.
Got to realize that not only are we getting a GH album. She has a song on the Swon Brothers cd that comes out on Oct 14th, All is Well that comes out on Monday, rumored collab with the Foo Fighters. Plus she is co-producing a tv series and who knows what else she has up her sleeves
Carrie Underwood appeared on NBC’s Today show this morning, where she revealed exclusively that she’ll release her first collection of hits, titled Greatest Hits: Decade #1, on December 9. With a final track listing to be announced, the album will draw from Underwood’s 18 #1 singles to date, while also featuring new material, kicked off by the first single, “Something in the Water.” Officially impacting country radio on October 6, “Something in the Water” will be available to stations in time to coincide with the digital single’s retail release on Monday, September 29.
For Underwood, the album is not only a career milestone, but also a perfect way to be able to share some new songs with fans in advance of her next full studio album. She says, “I can’t believe it’s been a decade since I auditioned for American Idol. Looking back at the songs I’ve released over the years lets me relive my amazing journey. Even better I get to include new music for the fans!”
I had no idea a Carrie fanbase existed haha. If she has a new single I'm dying to hear it. Those vocals are monstrous. I've been M.I.A. from the Underwood scene too.
No way she was going to do a LP with her being pregnant and due in the spring. Carrie is a perfectionist. She wouldn't of released a LP if she couldn't promote it properly and tour with it.
GH gives fans a few new songs and allows her to enjoy motherhood for a bit. She did tell a fan that there will be some surprises on the GH disk
