I imagine her going after the governors seat eventually if that is the direction she takes but it would be painful to see her go against Diane and Carry and others if she got that job while Kalinda works against her too. It's like she would burn every bridge she has if she did it.

After 13 episodes and a couple of delays with the date of the season finale, CBS's 'Extant' wrapped up on Wednesday with the episode "Ascension." Now all that's left is the verdict about whether or not the show will be renewed for a second season.
On that note, there's speculation about the show being cancelled because of the relatively low ratings toward the end of Season 1.
'Extant' started out strong with its promising plot receiving 9.5 million viewers for the premiere episode, 1.6 million of which belongs to the 18-49 demographic. Unfortunately, the ratings declined to 5.6 million viewers and a record low 4.6 million for the penultimate episode.

i think that's exactly what TGW's ending will be like. in season 1 alicia was always looking out for everyone except herself, even Cary despite the fact that they were competitors, Kalinda in her grand jury,etc. i think the whole show will end about Alicia turning into a full on bitch after all the **** that the world threw to her

It wasn't remotely engrossing or spectacular but it definitely did the job of indulging the viewers' mawkish desires.
