People who are fans of Taylor do that.
Meghan is probably doing a lot of radio shows right now because this is her moment. She needs to capitalise on it and make herself known. Taylor does not need to do that so much herself as she is already well known and established. If Meghan wants to show her versatility and play other songs then fair play to her. If she wants to pay homage to Taylor by giving her shoutouts and covering her song then that is a good thing imo.
Artists only ever cover songs that they personally like. So Meghan clearly likes SIO. Why are some acting like this is a bad thing? Meghan is likely a Swiftie too. American, similar age, likes singing and songwriting. Makes sense if she likes Taylor.
Taylor has covered plenty of songs by other artists and she has done that because she liked those particular songs. So why is it somehow bad that Meghan likes and covers SIO? I cannot see anything negative about it at all. We all know Taylor likes it when people cover her songs. She tweeted just yesterday about Labrinth's cover.
Yes, I would like AATB to be selling less than SIO, but I am not going to begrudge Meghan and think negatively about her because more people are buying AATB right now. That is what CarrieFans are like, hating on Taylor because Taylor's songs sell more. I am not falling into that trap. SIO is doing really well.
