Taylor Swift stays at the top
Thursday,*August*2,*2007*– Forty weeks after its release, Taylor Swift's self-titled debut CD remains atop of Billboard's Country Albums chart, with sales this week of 35,525 albums. This is Swift's second consecutive week at number one.
Swift just wrapped a series of dates on Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Soul2Soul 2007 tour. "Taylor proved that she has what it takes to be a real artist in country music and why her fans love her so," said Hill of touring with Taylor. "It was a thrill to have her on the Soul2Soul tour. She was professional, prepared, gracious, and most of all, gifted. The real deal."
Immediately after wrapping her Soul2Soul dates, Swift hooked back up with Brad Paisley's Bonfires & Amplifiers tour, which she joined in May, at Paisley's specific request. On Paisley's tour, Taylor performs a 25 minute set with her full band. She will tour with Paisley through November along with headlining some of her own shows.
