Am looking @ his albums' Wiki pages now and I see nothing but co-writes, so idk what you're talking about.
And even if he did write and produce all of his music himself, that doesn't take away from what I said about styling etc. It takes a village to make any pop star, male or female. Let's not act like it's just Katy/Rihanna etc. who have big teams behind them.

Well, Ciara is more talented than most of the pop girls.

Women also need to check their uncontrollable emotions at the door -- another thing you're not supposed to say out loud. When Lady Gaga and Demi Lovato are having emotional meltdowns on Twitter, it's so embarrassing. If you're going to be emotional, at least have some balls and be strong about it like Madonna or Azealia Banks. Banks' Twitter meltdowns doesn't read like some fragile woman breaking down because of criticism, it reads like a MAN getting in your FACE. I don't condone it, but it's refreshing, to say the least.

I personally agree with this. There are fewer talented women in the industry just because it's harder for them to enter it.
I think the problem was that it seems like some people are saying men are inherently more talented than women on average.

What is different from Chris and Ciara more-or-less?

Ummm Chris is still relevant.
No one cares about Ciara in this day and age.

It's actually a disturbing tale of fame and is a reason why Britney should remain inspiring to all of us (she remained someone resilient through it all).

Oh yeah, Britney's a slave to a lot of things, I know that. But that doesn't have to do with Gags her lack of talent. Britney herself isn't talented either so I ain't afraid to call a spade a spade.
Anyways, Britney's approach at trying to free herself from that patriarchy failed horribly and ended in disaster, so maybe it's best for it to remain as it is. Love sis tho <3 But independence isn't her forte. In fact, Gaga is another person who probably needs to be controlled by men to not spiral out of control.

You can craft a successful career in multiple disciplines as a female with minimal talent as long as you meet the societal expectations, e.g. beauty.
The same is true for males, but to a lesser extent. Male talent is able to naturally be showcased to society because the inventory is less focused on harsher judgments. Though, it does help if said male is attractive.
Ugly men have a much better shot at still being successful and famous than an ugly woman, assuming both were equally talented.
|

Non-ugly male artists have it the worst, because although they're admired by women and gay men, they're always trashed by straight men, which outnumber both gay men and women. Take Justin Bieber, for example. Before he became a certifiable douche, all the poor kid did was sing and dance with a comb over and he got immense hate and backlash for just that alone.

Katy and Rihanna are not more talented than Chris Brown, for example.
How many 'pop girls' are there anyway? I still think Beyonce is not a 'pop girl' in the same sense of the people you all name.

Lol. Both Christ and Ciara are infinitely more talented than all the pop girls.
The fact that they are good/great dancers ALONE makes them already more talented than a bunch of bitches who are mediocre at everything.
On top of that, Chris writes music for both himself and other people, directs his own music videos, and sings. Yall need to have a seat
The only two pop girls that are arguable are Beyonce (obviously) and Gaga

Azealia is still mocked for all of her Twitter adventures though; in fact you could easily argue they have ruined her career.
Not necessarily true when men do the same things online. Tyler the Creator is messy but gets away with it. The whole internet attacked Azealia when she called Perez a ******, but (maybe I missed it?) I haven't seen a huge backlash for Snoop Dogg's ****** Instagram post, even though he's a lot more visible. I'm sure there are lots of other examples.

How is it random? Do you think Bruno Mars doesn't have a constructed public image just like any other pop star?
