That was a pre-emptive PR move cast the onus on the people leaking/spreading them rather than on her for taking them in the first place (which she shouldn't be blamed for).

I don't think it was about keeping a "good girl" image. I mean, they realize once they have leaked, they're already out there, and issuing a press release is only making more people aware lol.
