Another thing is that the drums especially were straight from a track and were not played live but the drummer still mimed it so I'm thinking the rest of the band did too.

Yeah I know, if you say maybe her VMA performance, that could've very well been playback. But this one sounds real to me. Like in the 2nd verse of SIO, some parts of the horns were more layered. And the outro at the end of the whole performance, that was definitely not playback either.
The drums I'm not too sure, but they sound quite real to me.
