?? Why would I need to learn to swim? Unless I purposely go in a pool, there's no reason for me to learn how. Unless great floods overtake the entire world and we become a water dwelling species, it's not a necessary skill to know.

Same here. My backyard is on a slant/hill so we could never get a pool put in, and the only place I would "swim" would be my neighbors pool, but I nearly drowned in there a couple times, said **** it, and I haven't tried swimming since (which would be going on 10 years now )
