Basically, but Fergie is the clear loser. Gwen and Nelly are just much better artists and can actually be serious and deliver emotionally devastating sings whereas Fergie is only good for the bops. I mean "Big Girls Don't Cry" is really catchy and I get my life to it but when you compare it to "Don't Speak" and "Try" (from Folklore, which is massively underrated) it's like...

But "Big Girls Don't Cry" has more staying power than just about everything by Gwen and Nelly that isn't "Don't Speak" or maybe "I'm Like a Bird." I was shocked when its airplay numbers were still high a couple of years ago.

the "slayage" is just nostalgia at work.

ALSO, Fergie's comeback will be way smoother than Gwen's. BEP's last hit single was 2011 and Fergalicious/Glamourous/Big Girls Don't Cry are more remembered than Gwen's hits. Regardless, both will do better than Nelly with the proper promotion. Nelly was never a star in the US, we just bopped to her tunes. Fergie and Gwen are relatively well-known.

Either way I'm excited to see how this all unfolds

It's a shame this peaked so low, but Interscope really tried to push this song. It was all over the club last summer, plus they gave it a decent video and a radio push.

Fergie's comeback will be overshadowed next week by Kendrick for sure

no one gives a ****. none of them lose when they're all capable of making great songs. fergie knows her place and abilities and she sticks to what she's good at.

Radio airplay means nothing in terms of quality, so many God-awful, basic songs get tons of recurrent airplay. As a piece of songwriting it's nowhere near as good as the best of Nelly & Gwen.

& most of the top-selling albums were eras continued from 2005. TEOM being the 11th best-selling album of 2006 when the era was basically dead.
