I've been cutting a lot of ballads off my iTunes sync lately, because I'm being honest with myself and realizing that the up/midtempos are the ones I mostly play through and don't skip. Ballads tend to blend in with each other more.

A LOT. It would easier to tell you which ones I kept, lol.
I kept most of the ballads from Bey's 4 & BEY, almost all of Rihanna's, a good chunk of Taylor's, Sam Smith's & Ed Sheeran's, & basically all of Adele's & Amy Winehouse's sans 1 or 2 songs.
There are others I kept from other artists but those are artists whose ballads really stick out to me that I own.
Also anyone who knows London Grammar? There are some real standout ballads on their new album.
I highly recommend everyone go through their iTunes and uncheck songs frequently skipped when you shuffle. Best way to do that is start making a list and adding new songs as you notice you're not feeling them as much.
I literally think I cut like 1000 songs off. Completely worth it, and now I play nearly every song in my shuffles.
