WHY do you guys think the Grammy's care about critical acclaim? They care about what's popular and who people are buzzing about. If they cared about acclaim then all of the winners would reflect that

But in that case, if you take the top 5 hits of one calendar year, there has always been a song that's better or more memorable than whatever Flo Rida/Jason Derulo were serving
Katy get nominated all of the time but her material isn't strong enough to beat the big dogs. The general fields are competitive af, plus they HATE Dr. Luke/Max Martin so she doesn't really stand a chance.
