Not really. Banks and twigs not only fall under the same umbrella but they are both making trip-hop R&B music, which is known as "PBR&B." Of course, they don't sound exactly alike, just like Kanye and Drake don't but they both make hip hop music. Britney and Beyonce are nothing alike.
I think my point is, that P4K dissed Banks and wrote her music as basically "bland slowpaced trip-hop influenced R&B music" (paraphrasing here). That is more or less the same thing Twigs is doing and practically every other new artist they review on that site.

No, I just find it odd that they mentioned how bland "trip hop R&B" is when they usually praise it. Don't really see what's so hard to understand about that. I haven't listened to Banks' album to formulate an opinion on it. But if it's an individual situation, then I don't see why the style of music matters.
