It wasn't personal (like what taylor is doing) it was a business decision that was best for Katy's tour and she was well within her rights to do it.
Again, thats like saying all the pop girls needs to tell each other when they're planning to release music so no one else releases music at the same time or that the countless stars who release music days after their competitors are unprofessional - they're not.
Katy and Taylor share the same charts. They are competitors. This is how the music industry is. You don't have to like it but you're not going to change it.

Listening to y'all try to excuse your faves by acting like you understand how business works is a riot. Here's the deal: if the dancers were under contract, it's unprofessional for them to ditch mid-tour to go work for someone else with little notice given to Taylor and it's unprofessional (and not very courteous to someone she'll have to see in professional settings elsewhere) for Katy not to respect that those dancers are under contract by asking them to come join her. This is how you get a bad reputation in your field, by not honoring commitments, leaving people in bad places professionally, by undercutting the authority of others by not consulting them. If Katy really needed these specific dancers, there are ways she could've professionally gotten a hold of them, but it sounds like she chose methods that undermined Taylor instead.

The dancers clearly weren't under contract though, because if they were they wouldn't have been allowed to leave Taylor's tour

Those reports were obviously fake. Why would Selena be a threat to Katy? 5SOS is more of a threat to her and she had no problem with them signing to Capitol.

And how exactly would she do that? Its not like she can threaten to leave the label, she is likely under a multi-album contract. Not to mention she just started her own label which is an imprint of Capitol and Capitol probably had to sign a multi-year contract as the distributor of Metamorphosis. She is not a chairman or a shareholder, she has no influence on her label's decisions.
