Yea, but B'Day wasn't making all time list and etc. The release did give it more attention but when people say that if the album got reviewed today no one will give it praise is delusional.

There's not even any concrete evidence that he has that much wealth. Classic story of just people eventually believing things if they are repeated enough.

He has just inundated the media with spun stories about himself; eventually, the dummies fall for it. Mathew exposed a lot in that recent interview.

This is why he went on a blitz in the media from the 4 era to present about how carefully he crafts his music, presenting in-studio footage, talking about how personal & heartfelt these albums are, how much time and effort went into it.

He just wants the media to help convince the GP that he is some amazing artistic mind, because it's a missing piece in his public perception. He will never be seen more than any other popular female artist, so IDK why he tries.

Performer of her generation? If the GP really believed this then surely they would've all tuned in to the VMAs to watch one of her rare and hyped performances. Instead the show had the worst Sunday ratings in years.

If her performances were really that mind-blowing surely her music would see incredible sales boosts when televised. Instead even artists with horrible live vocals manage to eclipse her in that department.

The overall media narrative is enough to build her reputation which in turn leads to very successful tours. But on these rare moments when she's presented to the GP as an actual artist and not as a name, she never manages to convince them.
