Taylor is a poor vocalist. Her technique is not good, nor is she vocally skilled. She's not terrible, but let's be real, her belting is not powerful, her transition from chest voice to head voice is not smooth, etc.

However, that doesn't mean that she can't give good vocal performances sometimes

Like I'm not even exaggerating, this is the first time I've actually searched for Katy Perry performances and two things are clear

1) the amount of promo this clown had is unbelievable
2) I still didn't find a good performance

Why did KP perform Firework so terribly consistently? Did she hate it? She's always been a mediocre performer but she's always occasionally given a decent/good performance for a single run. Firework was just a disaster. I keep finding one that is more worse than the other as time goes by.

Taylor is not a good vocalist but she has potential - especially if she takes vocal lessons. I don't know even know how she got to where she is with no vibrato (a necessity for any singer). I guess her songwriting is just that great. Either way, there isn't much use in debating about these two's vocals cause..
