Lemme give it to y'all straight Japanese pop fans enjoy big vocals, sweet love lyrics and a cute youthful look. That is whats selling Adriana there. With Taylor and Avril it's the whole super blonde super white girl image that they crave in Japan (even niall horan of 1D said Japanese fans prefer him because he is blonde and harbour eyes) plus Avril does this punk pop thing Japan loves (Tommy February) with Mariah and Celine they smashed because the Japanese public really heavily enjoy big huge ballads sung by big voices. Some of the biggests hits in Japan tend to be ballads especially the classics (pre 2000) I remember beyonce probably being the only fully black woman who smashed multiple times in Japan yet her recent work hasn't done too well in Japan. GAGA GOT SO MUCH SUCCESS BEcause gaga "s style is heavily influenced by Japanese street/coutour etc plus she promote quite often in Japan compared to other pop girls who pay Japan dust. She in a way tells them she loves and appreciates them by acknowledging Japan in every one of her eras
