It sorta is one company. CCM and FNC are within the CJ Group conglomerate, its entertainment side usually displayed as CJE&M or MNet.
This merger is probably about cost cutting than anything else. FNC used to be a fairly targeted company, but now that they're representing actors, comedians, producing shows and dramas, they probably became a target of the accountants who noticed the redundancies on the payroll.
The weird thing about CJE&M that is not clear is that they also have an emerging/random third music label/artist business starting to form as recent acts like Jung Joon Young and Mamamoo and CCM defector Davichi have "CJE&M" listed as their label or co-label. Do these things eventually get moved over to MBK, too? Does the formation of MBK mean the end to the recent management agreement FNC/CJE&M had with Loen? Are they going to eventually acquire Loen, too? 1theMBK?
