So no, Rihanna isn't building any foundation and her music has no impact outside of entertaining people for a solid month, possibly two. At the end of the day, it's the impact that counts because nobody in the world except for ATRL cares for album sales nor single sales.

She was always overshadowed by Britney/Gaga/Rihanna etc before that.
