The rats are mostly in the subways, but ur right. Except I couldn't go anywhere in LA without seeing some dirty homeless guy shooting up on a sidewalk. Kinda made it hard to take family pictures.

As a NYLA hybrid, i used to have the same thinking but L.A. gets old really fast. I think NYC is better than L.A. but when it comes to states, Cali sh*ts all over NY. Such a beautiful, safe, and amazing (like Bey would say) place. NY State is literally nothing outside of the city. Who uses NY State?

Basically this. NYC has such a wide range of experiences though. I stayed in Harlem and loved my time there, a lot more than my time near Times Square. Morningside Heights and wherever NYU is felt very normal to me. If you're from a big city it won't feel super foreign, unless your downtown area is trash (Los Angeles hehe)

Times Square is garbage there is nothing to do there except spend truckloads of money.

LOL I remember another time I was working on Randall's Island for a music festival and I had about 300 dollars cash in my pocket it was like 2AM and down pouring. So my dumb ass walked across the triborough bridge and through the bad side of Harlem to get to the subway

Yeah I want to live in NYC and start my career there, but I definitely have no interest in staying there longer than a few years. It seems really hard to find someone to settle down with there, and I'm still very husband minded despite all the ****tiness.

Market Days/Pride/The ****ery that occurs at Boystown events is the only reason I go up there

They changed the curfew to 1AM but cops usually show up and starting kicking the **** around 11.

Most of the kids who hang out in the village are too young to get into clubs so that's their only late night hangout. It's cute when you're a teenager but being 20 plus and hanging out there <<<

You should come over the bridge to Jersey.
That's why I love living where I do. It's like living in New York but not completely. You get to experience the city, do the new yorker thing, etc but still don't have to submerge yourself completely into the whole lifestyle. I can't imagine all that damn noise while I'm trying to sleep

And also NYC drivers are just....ruthless. Especially the damn cabs. I get nervous just thinking about it.

Me and my friends have been catching the dollar bus to NY since like 8th grade

LA gets boring so fast. NYC you go to a different borough and you literally explore something new and different.
