I have a theory about this...
I think kids/teens with strict parents like myself are a bit hesitant to buy explicit songs with their parents' credit card

idk about other people but my mom always goes off when she sees certain songs in our iTunes library
It's much easier to buy a ballad or a Katy Perry song compared to a song that's explicit or has a risqué cover
I also think that old people are really turned off by songs like Rude Boy. If the sexual content is blatant or not sung by a white person, there's no way they're buying it
