How come practically none of Gwen's singles were successes (though the ones that stuck truly stuck and are still remembered: Rich Girl, Hollaback Girl, Sweet Escape)? Was it because she was a small beacon of pop during a time when that style had sorta died out? Why did it work for Fergie later on?
