I legit don't see any of the 1,000 black people I'm surrounded by give a **** about Brandy or Monica, like ever.
On her death anniversary all the girls in my school had their lil pictures of her all over Instagram.
& Kool_Aid_King why do you always bring up how Brandy was more successful 20 years ago? Don't you use that against Brittany stans w/ your Bey stanning.

Because that's how you compare with Aaliyah, going in the past.
I can easily talk about the Moesha re-runs playing at this exact moment somewhere on one of the dozen TV stations that still play it everyday.
I can easily talk about The Parkers, a show that would be impossible without Moesha, that's also played constantly on TV
I can easily talk about Brandy's starring role on the biggest TV show on BET.
I can easily talk about Brandy selling out shows in Asia, Africa, Europe & North America.
I can easily talk about Brandy giving numerous interviews and being revered as an iconic vocalist.
I can easily talk about the dozens of people who actually SAY they are deeply influenced by Brandy.
I'm not an Aaliyah stan where I have to see some light-skinned girl who's somewhat decent at dancing and dresses street and think "OMFG THAT'S AALIYAH" with the same girl saying they never saw her as an influence.
And that's the tea.
