Radio isn't playing it that much - it's not even Top 20 on overall radio. And it's doing well on Spotify and iTunes, so it deserves to be a hit. The reason it's as high as #2 is obviously b/c of the video. My point is that the fans really shouldn't be complaining and saying it "deserves" #1 when Taylor's song, no matter how awful it is, clearly "deserves" the #1 spot. It's slaying in all aspects.
Radio is actually playing her song because the 11 year olds like it. Look at the digital numbers - people are buying it in loads (God knows why...).
