Stop being messy. Hell, even I don't consider DrIL memorable as of yet because it hasn't even been out a year or more. Try naming some of YOUR faves songs instead of being glued to Bey.
Anywho! Accel has a point. We all think highly of our faves music because they're our faves, but aside from Madonna, Mariah, and maybe one Britney song, who really has songs that have lasted in the minds of pop culture for more then 10 years? Oh and aside from Bey cause CIL is still a staple.
The answer is none of the girls who's hits are less then 5-10 yrs old. P!nk has memorable hits to enough people.

It's the truth. Even Katy has experimented with different sounds like trap with 'Dark Horse'. All Pink has done for the last 10 years is release the same repetitive generic product. And the worst part is she does all this unknowingly and continues working with Dr Luke/Max Martin and that is why she'll never be a legend. Like Cyndi Lauper Pink will be known for her talents and flair and her 1 or 2 memorable hits (whatever her memorable hits are because I can't even remember them)

I know I already quoted this but...
This makes it even better.

And no I stan for Katy because, to me, she's a great singer and I love how lush her falsetto is.
|
And what for you defines their memorability?
I mean it's those songs aren't even a decade old, hell KAty's whole carreer isn't even a decade old, what makes you think that the big hits she gets today are gonna stay in people's minds in 5 or 10 years?
Stop the blind delusion or at least don't bring Katy into the discussion coz you are gonna get clocked

I hope those joining the discussion late realise that no one supporting P!nk is referring to the thread title.
Just so we're all clear: No one has suggested P!nk should be titled the Queen of Pop, we're just discussing her rn.

Because she isn't a part of this generation where a dosage of sensationalism attracts the viewers and not so much a female rocker from the 90s who's in her 40s.

Simply having talent, success and appeal does not get you that title or Kelly Clarkson would be the Queen of Pop. You have to have that certain something, the star quality that sets you above the rest. You have to do things truly different not just "alternative" and you have to be a queen to people, not just a great popstar.
|
Kelly Clarkson was the Queen of Pop 2004-2006.

Point in case. Some of the girls given that title one have success but not much else. I mean, I'm just asking in ATRL land, because we know real life tells a different story then what this forum would have you believe.

That title RIGHTFULLY belongs to Madonna, without whom our faves would be totaly different or wouldn't even be here

I think she's lacking something in the fashion department. She needs a stylist/fashion upgrade.

YES. The thing I can't stand is how other fans think their faves are memorable when they are not. No one has a song that has lasted more than a year (except maybe Adele), least of all a decade. Truth is no one in the pop scene yet has songs like The Beatles, songs that transcend time.

Oh, let's talk about how P!nk was the biggest trendsetter in touring in the 21st century.
First started working with Baz Halpin and Silent House Production. The number of artist who followed it: Britney, Christina, Cher, Taylor, Sade, Katy..

That may be it. She's just a really normal person she doesnt feel like a celebrity you never see anyone talking about her like people do with the other girls.

Now since OP said Rihanna stans should not act like they care for impact instead of sales. Then Pink is supposed to have all those massive sales, records. Why don't we stan for her then? But let me stop from making a not so nice statement. There lies the reason why she isn't and will not be the Queen of Pop. She has the stats op and then? Is that enough to be the Queen of Pop????????

Exactly. I'm comparing her milestones and achievements to the girls who use single and albums success as a way to define who the QoP should be. My point is, if going off those parameters, why is P!nk never thought of a the QoP. And this has nothing to do with how she sees herself.

It's so funny how other bases throw that title around like *****s spread herpes, but not us. I occasionally call her Queen of Pop/Rock though, but she's truly something else.

Um isn't it obvious? Something that makes the song memorable.
'I kissed a girl and I liked it' - this lyric is ICONIC like the 'here comes the thrilllerrr' line. Katy helped popularize lesbianism in popular culture.
Fireworks is an immortal hit just like Mariah's christmas song; every 4th of July the song will be played.
The nerve of P!nk stans in here calling me delusional. Ironic how P!nk came into the game trying to play off the stereotype of a popstar yet she is the definition of a generic popstar.

P!nk stans don't go around the forum calling her the Queen of Pop - maybe jokingly or just coz we are proud of her for something.
And let's not act like Rihanna is the Queen of Pop and the OP is asking why it's not P!nk.
So i don't see why you're bothered like this tbh
