Superhero movies are beyond overdone, but they will always have an audience so they're not going away. Since Disney owns Marvel, they're going to continue making superhero movies an entire industry for profit.

Star Wars is kinda the epitome of taking the most cliche tropes in history and then winning a bunch of Oscars because it was done so well and fleshed out. It's a simple film at the end of the day.

Well besides my weakness for horror movies, I live Savages, the descendants, Match point, Requiem for a dream, Side effects.

The only blockbuster i liked this year was Godzilla. Such a pleasant surprise.

and of course, Battleship is the greatest movie of all time.

Requiem for a Dream is sooooo good. Do you like Darren Aronofsky's movies in general or just that one? I'm a huge fan of Black Swan too.

George Lucas is sorta the Lady Gaga of the film industry. Still liked and occasionally given a pat on the back for his previous works, but ignored on his newer work and sorta hated by his previous fans too.

It's kinda funny because the Prequel Trilogy has a better story than the original films but the storytelling is a damn mess. They had better actors too - aside from Alec Guinness. Lucas really dropped the ball with those.

I never run with a director and watvh all his filmography. I never watched black saw and never saw what else he's done.

Nah, the stories for I and II are a mess. Full of superfluous fluff and terrible character building. They picked it up a little with III, but in general that trilogy was a mess.

Red Letter Media on YouTube has great (really long, but still great) reviews of the prequel trilogy.
