yeah, ever since Billboard started counting airplay as 75% (and sales only 25%, where single sales have gone almost extinct in favor of album sales)a few years ago, the USA singles charts have made no sense.
few americans know these songs either, lol, and few america's respect this chart anymore.
the urban/r&b/black radio stations seem to get together, pick a handful of songs, and play them non-stop to boost each songs audience impression, which Billboard uses. Pop stations play all type of songs (including r&b), but each song gets played less each day. More mature stations play current hits along w/ hits from the 60's/70's/80's/90's.
America is 80% white, yet there has not been a white/non-urban person at #1 since 2001 (except kelly clarkson and clay aiken since sales right after American Idol were so MASSIVE it even overwhelmed this urban tilted airplay component.
