I would get it if she has said it was her favourite food, but I don't think she has. Instead it seems racially motivated.

Most people in places like Latin America don't even know she's black

Her features and skin color are very common to those in Latin America

Mariah Carey is half white and half Afro-Venezuelan therefore half black/half latina so it makes sense how she would apparently resemble Latin Americans. No she did not bleach she is just light naturally due to being biracial.

Africans come in all shades and facial features to begin with, add to the fact she's half Irish it's not that hard to believe.

She has a more "white" skin tone and has her grandmothers face (fathers side)
Genetics isn't that black and white no pun intended.
