No, Ed is a fan of John Mayer. They are both talented singer-songwriters. These things are what attracted Taylor to both of them because that is something she relates to and admires. OK, her relationship with John ended sourly, but that is no reason for Ed not to still like John Mayer or his music.
Taylor is friends with Gwyneth Paltrow, but she is still paying compliments to Chris Martin, even though their marriage broke up. Taylor still seems friendly with Niall Horan, despite her falling out with Harry. Similarly Cara Delevingne and Ed Sheeran are friendly with both Taylor and Harry Styles.
I hope it gives the Red era its much deserved grammy this coming year
