What you don't know is that "Super Bass" gained like crazy on iTunes after Taylor's rap which influenced Nicki and the label to release it.

M4L Pop play was minimal. Rhythmic & Urban carried Nicki, just like now.
If I remember correctly, DIOE was just going to be released shortly followed by GFLD.
Ugh I can't remember everything, but I'm sure that Nicki stated that if GFLD performed good overseas they'd release it here, but Taylor happened followed by Selena (nobody remembers ha) and SB was released.
SIO is so basic & generic that if Anaconda was a good song I would be massacring people left and right right now tbh. Neither of the songs are that good so it's ok, kinda.
Nicki has stated that superbass was never going to be a single until the Taylor thing happened. Dont discredit her, even Nicki herself thanks Taylor all the time for that boost.
