Before W2E, good black movies were being made: Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, Boyz N The Hood, What’s Love Got To Do With It, Menace II Society, etc.

Agreed. Anyone who likes black movies today has bad taste, since most are terrible.
The only way black movies get nominated for anything today is if it's about slavery.

Most iconic black movie scene EVER imo.

The whole premise behind that is that she spent their marriage trying to be his "white woman" and suppressing herself so he would be happy. I don't know if you noticed, but she wears light colored contacts at the beginning of the movie and spends time at her vanity basically looking empty because she realizes no matter what she does she can't be the woman he wants.

What she did came out of anger, it's who she is, not a stereotype. Did you not hear her rant as she threw his clothes into the car and lit it on fire? She gave up her life for him. There are housewives like that character in the world today OF ALL RACES and there most certainly were back in the 90s for sure.

BIDH and M2S are stereotypes from beginning to end, the average black teen is not a thug.

Spike Lee sucks. Most of his movies are just uber cringeworthy. King Denzel should become a director. Or Samuel L., he's intelligent + a Gaga stan (kinda synonymous) so I'm sure he has the vision to become a director.
