Are the sales that bad though? I thought most were very very close to being sold out, with just one flop show

They aren't flopping THAT badly, it's just that the new dates they added because of the demand aren't selling out. There's usually like a couple hundred tickets left for some shows. If her team weren't so money hungry and didn't add these extra dates we could have had a sold out leg considering the original dates were pretty much sold out

Larry was good up until FF, we all know this. Quite frankly, he's done a decent job of someway still managing to milk money out of Britney (for both him and her). Like, how did he convince Planet Hollywood to sign a deal with Britney and her team for a 2 year show (which would end up costing them a $30M salary and $20M in renovations) for someone who's a notorious lip syncher and who's last largely televised performance was the BBMA 2011, which was preceded by the 2007 VMA's? Following a less than stellar X-Factor stint...
Might as well be a miracle worker.

If you mean award shows, then yeah, but let's not forget her GMA appearance for Circus promo, it got more viewers than the BBMA, for example.

Britney's brand was riding the X Factor/Scream and Shout wave when they negotiated Vegas. Factoring in her legacy, respectable tour receipts and the wave of good will towards her in early 2013, along with Planet Hollywood wanting to expand the deal isn't that far fetched.
|
This.
Her legacy really only shredded out when Britney Jean saw the light of day. It was still hanging on pretty decently.
The fact she had a major hit just two years ago, also mean Britney Spears is still something. Despite haters trying to say it's on will.i.am, we know it's not. Will has never had any solo hit, plus, everyone addressed S&S as a Britney song anyway...

Hmmm
Li thoughtful was even less than a couple hundred
It's still above 95% either way, so I'm ok with that
I doubt they'll add more. They need to chill.

If Britney had stayed the alpha performer she once was, coupled with her immense media pull and tantalizing performances, do you think Beyonce would have still eclipsed ha in today's age?
Britney has never pulled off a performance quite like Beyonce did at this year's VMA's, I mean the bitch was literally flawless throughout the entire 'tribute'. But it was also a very standard Beyonce performance. Britney - at her peak - owned the stage much in the same vein (sans live vocals), but she also always one-upped herself and kept things fresh. You never really knew what Britney would do next.
Could 2003 Britney have remained on top in 2014 with Beyonce dominating the stage non-stop? Did she set the bar too high for herself (in terms of overall starpower), and was as a result always doomed for a breakdown?
Basically, I miss Britney the pop star. Britney the mom just doesn't do much for me (Circus era notwithstanding, but even then there were some serious setbacks).

Beyonce is a great performer, while Britney was also a great performer Britney had something Beyonce lacks to this day, which is charisma and authenticity. Beyonce can be authtentic at times and emotional, but she is a much more serious, polished and centered character than Britney ever was.
Beyonce had as much spectacular performances as Britney back in the day, but in the end people wanted to talk about Britney. Britney had star power, charisma and she could draw attention like no other.
It's also the reason why her comeback was so successful, America WANTED her. America needed her back.
But now she's just destroying everything. She or her management, whatever.
Beyonce won because Britney gave up. If not, they'd be today both two spectacular performers, not just one.
And yes, Beyonce can be really repetitive and she brought nothing new on Sunday, despite bringing the old brilliantly. But why fixing a formula that isn't broken? If she can pull similar performances and still be praised to high heavens for it, why shouldn't she?

I agree. Beyonce is a great performer, easily the best today, but there's a reason why Britney took ALL the headlines and acclaim when it came to her performances at her peak. I would argue that she was practically the female MJ, but I don't want to get ahead of myself. Many will say she was overrated, and there certainly isn't any argument for her performing abilities nowadays, but then if she was so overrated way back when, why was she the singular artist to look out for when it came to staged performances? She was the best. Just look at the abc special for ITZ. Ain't no one(sans JLO, but her music sucks) doing that today. No one. Granted, none of it was live, but with Britney it didn't matter. We - and 'they' at one point - simply wanted to see her on stage.
Like, why was she the most searched woman of the Internet for 10 years running since the damn conception of the Internet itself? Why did she have the most rabid and protective of stanbases for practically 15 years running. Many have jumped ship since FF, but when Britney was the best, she was the mutha****ing best.... and I miss ha.
I kind of hate that I'm starting to stan for Beyonce, just because Bey has honed her skill so perfectly after all these years. What's worse is that Britney seems to be losing her credibility amongst the masses, and that to me is an affront to Pop culture.

Selfish is my going out/pre-game anthem. If I'm about to go out with friends/on a date, I'm taking a shower to the song blasting

I disagree! 2011 was because if Britney and Gaga. Britney's speech turned into Beyoncé introduction. That is why it looked like Beyoncé got the spotlight.
