It's obvi photoshopped. Lines are different thickness in certain parts, some characters have emblems and some don't. It doesn't all add up, and neither does the way the characters are organized.
It's a very good photoshop though! I personally wouldn't mind this roster.
Now wait a minute here at you coming for Krystle calling her useless when we have the sadistic Princess Peach who is used as a sex slave for both Maio and Bowser as a breeding ground for the roster of Mario Kart 8 being perfectly used in the game and they picked up her arsenal of moves from a game that wasn't even a Mario game and pots and pans.
Krystle has an unfortunate backstory when her own game was taken over by Star Fox and despite her character being turned into a furries dream she deserves to get her time to be in the spotlight at least once. Now you know damn right she will have a more unique move set them your typical Star Fox character and other damn character.
That music selection and app alone is seriously making me consider the 3DS version. The composers >>>

I would say Krystal's so forgettable that you forgot to spell ha name, but the problem is that she isn't.
She's been so far inserted into the series' canon that the only way to stop the metastasis is not mention her ever again.
She abandoned the staff in Adventures so what will she use to attack? Angst?

awesome theory and it makes a lot of sense to include hidden characters for both versions and have them cross platforms. It'd also be good for Nintendo to market the Wii U version if they reveal more hidden characters.
