While it's true that she could have gone Alternative or Folk, but if she doesn't do this fun music now, when will she? When she's 50? When her commercial career starts to fade away, she will then focus on being more artistic. If I were Taylor, I would have done all of what she's done.

You know the thing is with wanegbt yeah it was different for taylor and it definitely wasn't what the whole album sounded like and there was backlash with that song too. But it's different this time. With red she still had her nashville ties with her main producer and we still got our classic taylor songs, but with 1989, she cut her nashville ties and most of the album is Max and no Nathan. I swear to god tho max better produce some good accoutic country ballads for us country Swifties

I mean, that once she releases a fully pop album, there's no way she would abandon pop for country music. And if she continues to succeed in pop genre, then we'll never get another country album. Pop music industry is too intense. But I think she'll face a decline after two pop albums and will decide to come back to her roots. Yet it will be too late to come back big.

Not bad but would feel better with a few days of 100,000+ estimates. I am glad that she is increasing her lead even with Meghan staying strong. That is the most important thing.

Pop industry will consume her and abandon as they always do. Pop Taylor ain't revolutionary, she mixes the current trends and make them sound bearable. Shake It Off, though phenomenal a.ka song of my life, clearly sounds like an Umbrella+Girlfriend+Thrift Shop+Happy+The Best Damn Thing mash-up. She takes what's best in current pop music and mashes it perfectly. But she also needs to add something new from her. I hope 1989 is innovative and cohesive both lyrically and musically. I don't want Taylor to be called "just one of those tacky pop girls".

I am kinda interested to see how her ballads turn out, I mean even her MM tracks on Red still had a country-esque writing style.

But I wouldn't worry too much While MM may be producing 7 tracks, there's always the possibility that Nathan produced all the other songs (other than Ryan Tedder Probably), especially the solo written song They may not be traditional country but good none the less.
