The song isn't submissive at all, it's about wanting to make your man happy. Female empowerment was great but it's nice seeing a softer, love-struck side of the girls. Lyrics aside, the vocals were spread out nicely and the composition is beautiful; some of the best production in their entire catalog. Songs that are truly forgotten and left little impact on the music industry outside the release year, like Jumpin' Jumpin', should not be charting higher than this classic.

As I've said before, the production is top-notch. But there's a fine line between love and submission that "Cater 2 U" gleefully crosses. No surprise that it was written by men.
Meanwhile, "Jumpin', Jumpin'" made Pitchfork's list of the best tracks of the 2000s. Did "Cater 2 U"?
