If I was a gay R&B artist I wouldn't want to put myself in a box either and become a GAy rights activist. He doesn't owe the gay community anything. Plus as we've seen thats borderline career suicide (see: Lady Gaga). He's stated what he is and put his cards on his table. People discrediting who he says he really is are the ones with issues.

Y'all can come up with all these arguments that the "urban community" is homophobic and blah blah blah, but many people still felt that the moment was odd and that Frank pushed it for one thing and hasn't done much since. Being a black man coming out is big news, hence why people made a big deal over Michael Sam. I don't know him personally to make that judgment, but it's not a dumb argument.
