In 2002, radio was the only factor in the Hot 100. However, nobody knows that the bottom 25 of the Hot 100 (76-100) was physical single-only songs. "I'm Not a Girl" was #77 on the radio chart but because it didn't have a CD or vinyl single with it, it wasn't eligible to chart and thus stuck on the Bubbling Under. This is why "Outrageous" charted with less airplay at #79--it had a vinyl single.
Also, "I'm Not a Girl" was a top 10 song on Napster so based on actual demand, it was a "hit."

Her label really screwed her up. No wonder it has sold really well digitally. It could've been at least Top 20 without the radio ban.
"I'm Not a Girl" was like "Piece of Me" (the single)--poor airplay but decent sales. Of course Napster and other digital outlets in 2002 were all illegal so that wouldn't have helped anyway. But you get my point--there was a demand for the song but no way to show it.
"My Prerogative" peaked at #2 on the Hot Digital Tracks chart a few months before it was incorporated into the Hot 100. What a shame. It peaked at #101.

My Prerogative is one of her best singles. It could have slayed if she promoted it. It did well here, it peaked at #3 I believe. I remember being slayed by the opening scene of the video when I was 9/10 ITZ/GH was such a great singles time for her here

Anthony Kitty can correct me if I'm wrong but when "Me Against the Music" was released digitally it hit #1 for a day or two before PLUMMETING. A "Work Bitch" tea.

I just checked and it definitely peaked at #3 in the UK, I think you're talking about the US
No wonder it has sold really well digitally. It could've been at least Top 20 without the radio ban.
