Do you feel me? I think that skewed the pacing of the film and that some HUMANITY along the way as she struggles to cope with the changes inside of her would have made for a more enticing viewer experience. Although maybe ScarJo just isn't capable of that slope and that's why this was the perf role for her.
I think the quick transition is meant to represent that even with 20% utilized, she still changes into this other form completely. But I never really viewed the science of it as all that important. To me, it's not meant to be a subtle film. It's meant to evoke SOMETHING - whether that be thinking, anger, laughter, etc.
