Usher losing his spot to Ariana is beyond terrible. That girl has no starpower, and while Usher has been struggling, he has basically paid his dues and it would have been a big way to open up his era and celebrate 20 years in the industry.

VMAs have always been a very "of-the-moment" thing. They go for whoever is on top, but that show is so going to bomb in ratings. I wouldn't be surprised if they're under the BET Awards like in 2012.
