I think it's become harder to debut at #1 overall though. Streaming has made it more difficult to debut higher than it was when it was just sales + airplay. Just like before, it's all about your competition at the time.

Debuting at #1 isn't really important in the grand scheme of things. A lot of #1 debuts weren't even amongst the top 5 biggest songs the year they were released.
