How does the whole gifting thing work? Like do I need a second iTunes account for it to count? I remember reading something like that around Roar/Applause.

You go to the songs page on iKoons and there's a little arrow pointing downwards beside the "$1.29" you clock that and it gives you options and one should say "Gift to a Friend" click that and put in the persons email you want to gift it to. They check their email about 10-30 minutes later and they click download. It'll launch in iKoons and download automatically.
If a double album sells 500K in a week, did it actually sell a million in a week?

No, but I'm pretty sure you need to have a credit card attached to your account.
Exactly If WANEGBT/IKYWT didn't alienate country fans, I doubt the country audience is why she's able to sell so much. Taylor's fanbase is strong and loyal, she shouldn't worry

I think better to keep expectations low and be surprised.
Here's a thought, we have posters here with handles named after Taylor's songs. Examples are BtDecember, State of Grace, Haunted. Just think shortly we'll have a new influx of members named after Hymns from the 5th Gospel!

Well let's not forget Bey was able to sell 660k in 3 days, not trying to get my hopes up/be disappointed. I'm not gonna act like it's not possible though.

I'd say tons of people bought it on impulse (as seen by it's total being about equal to 4 when all is said & done) and the videos were just a bonus.
Bey made her album release an "event" of sorts, and like you said- it wasn't just an album. And since Taylor has been hyping this as more than just another Album- I hope it succeeds

Sounds like George likes her after meeting her. I remember him getting in a twitter war with 1D after meeting them and having a bad experience. Sounds like Tay made a good impression though!
