The same reason why - prior to BJ - any other Brit track wouldn't be the same without Britney ha studio prowess (we can include a few songs from FF ofc, but that's beside the point). Britney's had an unmistakably unique vocal tone for the majority of her discography. Up until her latest release, producers were able to exploit that tone, and in turn create a track that would otherwise lack without Britney's input. I'm obviously biased as a fan, but I honestly can't imagine a single one of her tracks having been sung by ANYONE else. There's a reason she was, for a long time, the most sought after by top producers. Her music sold as well as it did thanks in large part to the infectious tone she was able to provide.
Can you imagine Duff's take on HOE? Can't say I'd thoroughly enjoy it, to say the least.
