It was released THE SAME TIME the album was dropped. Why would people by the single if they have the IDENTICAL track in their purchased album? If Beyonce were to surprise release DIL instead of the album, most of BEYONCE's sales would be shifted to DiL.

So in reality, DIL sold 2.8+3.6=6.4 million WW.
